After some careless play in the Märsta RK defense, Kurt Algren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Modesto Iratxo. The Märsta RK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Modesto Iratxo should have stopped the shot. 7 minutes into the match, Biggus IF's Stefan Josefsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Modesto Iratxo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 18th minute, Märsta RK's Erling Kaxe dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Gilbert Åströms short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Börge Mager to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Modesto Iratxo came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Biggus IF's Kurt Algren. But to his dismay, Kurt Algren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 43rd minute, Jan Soned hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Karl-Axel Säfström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Biggus IF's Börge Mager played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Axel Säfström in the 57th minute of play. Karl-Axel Säfström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Börge Mager having to make a save. The supporters of Biggus IF booed when Märsta RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tord Säf didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Märsta RK's zone, Per Alrot stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Modesto Iratxo came out of the goal and Per Alrot tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Biggus IF booed when Märsta RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven Albohm didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Märsta RK's zone, Stefan Josefsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Modesto Iratxo came out of the goal and Stefan Josefsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Axel Säfström in the 67th minute of play forced Biggus IF's goalkeeper Börge Mager to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Märsta RK's goalkeeper Modesto Iratxo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kurt Algren. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Märsta RK! Kim Eliasson scored 1-3 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Modesto Iratxo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 86th match minute, Märsta RK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tord Säf to maneuver through the defense. Modesto Iratxo was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Stefan Josefsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Stefan Josefsson really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. The Biggus IF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Biggus IF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
