If Harald Sundström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martin Sjöö fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georg Lundqvist having to interfere. Patrick Lindholm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Georg Lundqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martin Sjöö was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Valsjöbyn BF's goal looked a bit too open when Ture Ingemarsson came free, but Georg Lundqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute, one of Malmö FF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Malmö FF. Georg Lundqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Sjöö, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. If Harald Sundström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 88 in the game by Harald Sundström from a close distance when the talented Sven-Oskar Ekenberg managed to make a qualified save. Malmö FF's players were relieved. Sven-Oskar Ekenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Eskilsson in the 94th minute of play. The Valsjöbyn BF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Valsjöbyn BF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
