After 5 minutes of play, IF Elfsborg's Arvin Vinström made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jens-Erik Smedfeldt was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 8th minute, Arvin Vinström made a precise shot to the right of Jens-Erik Smedfeldt. Barkarby Runners's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 11th minute, Patrik Lindberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timmy Sjöberg in the 13th minute of play forced IF Elfsborg's goalkeeper Robin Olsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arvin Vinström scored 0-3 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jens-Erik Smedfeldt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Arne Nyqvist notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of IF Elfsborg's Robin Olsen. Robin Olsen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jens-Erik Smedfeldt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvin Vinström in the 27th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Barkarby Runners's Per Ekrot got a free kick in the 29th minute. 36 minutes into the game, IF Elfsborg's Olle Bryngelsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jens-Erik Smedfeldt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. In the 44th minute Arvin Vinström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens-Erik Smedfeldt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barkarby Runners's Jens-Erik Smedfeldt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arvin Vinström in the 46th minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Kaj Holmgren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barkarby Runners's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IF Elfsborg the free kick. Kaj Holmgren kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arvin Vinström made a kick off. Barkarby Runners's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Arvin Vinström 53 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-5. In the 61st minute Karl-Axel Bivall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens-Erik Smedfeldt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Timmy Sjöberg fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barkarby Runners's protests and gave Timmy Sjöberg a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Barkarby Runners's Timmy Sjöberg got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Jens-Erik Smedfeldt was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Erland Alegren. Jens-Erik Smedfeldt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvin Vinström in the 71st minute of play. In the 79th minute Arne Nyqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Olsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute Barkarby Runners were awarded a corner. Viggo Eliasson went to the cornerflag to take it. Viggo Eliasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Olsen having to interfere. Jens-Erik Smedfeldt made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Olle Bryngelsson sent off a good shot on target. In the 90th minute, Arvin Vinström reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jens-Erik Smedfeldt. The goal made the score 1-6. The IF Elfsborg supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing IF Elfsborg would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
