Greger Henriksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Gustav Lang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustav Lang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ove Smedfeldt in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th match minute, Bäckby FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yngve Melander to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute, Yngve Melander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 22 minutes, Greger Henriksson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stampen Lejonet's supporters crossed their fingers, but Greger Henriksson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alvar Algren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudolf Stor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bäckby FK's Gustav Lang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jörn Björck in the 30th minute of play. A collision led to Bäckby FK getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Yngve Melander hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bäckby FK's zone, Jörn Björck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustav Lang came out of the goal and Jörn Björck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bäckby FK's Gustav Lang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jörn Björck in the 36th minute of play. Jörn Björck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustav Lang having to interfere. Gustav Lang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörn Björck, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 44 minutes of play, Stampen Lejonet's Conny Forssberg made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustav Lang was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gustav Lang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jörn Björck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jörn Björck made a kick off. In the 54th minute Jörn Björck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustav Lang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 54th minute of the match Yngve Melander completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Yngve Melander a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Yngve Melander hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Alvar Algren made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Oskar Alegren sent off a good shot on target. Oskar Alegren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Alvar Algren made a huge save. Jörn Björck struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Gustav Lang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stampen Lejonet. If Jörn Björck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Allan Vassenius fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bäckby FK's protests and gave Allan Vassenius a yellow card for diving instead. If Greger Henriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Greger Henriksson struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Gustav Lang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal.
