Gösta Fågel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henning Ekrot, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. 6 minutes into the game, Jan-Ove Jonasson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Djurgården's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eekeborg IK the free kick. In the 6th minute, Jan-Ove Jonasson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Ove Bäck put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gösta Fågel. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henning Ekrot in the 13th minute of play forced Djurgården's goalkeeper Gösta Fågel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Djurgården's Jan-Ove Jonasson managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Harald Örnberg in the 15 minute of the game. After 18 minutes of play, Eekeborg IK's Samuel Dusett made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gösta Fågel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kjell Tidén charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kjell Tidén the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Djurgården getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Kjell Tidén hit a great ball. The supporters of Djurgården booed when Eekeborg IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henning Ekrot didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eekeborg IK's Sten Ingvall proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Eekeborg IK from getting a goal against them. Gösta Fågel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. In the 86th minute of the match, Henning Ekrot got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gösta Fågel was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Gösta Fågel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henning Ekrot's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. 89 minutes into the game, Esbjörn Alebom recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gösta Fågel. Esbjörn Alebom showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. A collision led to Eekeborg IK getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Harald Örnberg hit a great ball. Djurgården's Gösta Fågel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Dusett in the 95th minute of play. Eekeborg IK's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
