Spectators: 7492 (Terracing: 5620, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Arnäs IF's Rikard Hermansson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kristian Lundström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bror Sundström in the 14th minute of play forced Arnäs IF's goalkeeper Jürg Fahlgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Anaba Fahlgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arnäs IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anaba Fahlgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rikard Hermansson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tord Engström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. With a little luck, Västra Ämtervik's Tord Engström got control of the ball when Rikard Hermansson tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 24 played minutes Västra Ämtervik got a freekick which was hit by Bror Sundström. In the 26th minute, Rikard Hermansson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bror Sundström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the match, Västra Ämtervik's goalkeeper Tord Engström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rikard Hermansson. 37 minutes into the match, Arnäs IF's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Isaksson came free, but Jürg Fahlgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anaba Fahlgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tord Engström having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Västra Ämtervik's zone, Rikard Hermansson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tord Engström came out of the goal and Rikard Hermansson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Arnäs IF getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Casper Ekeberg hit a great ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bror Sundström was the one to do the kick off. Bror Sundström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kristian Lundström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Jürg Fahlgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Västra Ämtervik's Michel Isaksson got a free kick in the 64th minute. Rikard Hermansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rikard Hermansson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tord Engström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. In the 68th minute Rikard Hermansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tord Engström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jürg Fahlgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bror Sundström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Rikard Hermansson came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Arnäs IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rikard Hermansson couldn't finish the play. In the 85th minute Rikard Hermansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tord Engström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tord Engström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rikard Hermansson in the 89th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Arnäs IF players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
