The Mago de Oz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brian Lidberg should have stopped the shot. Michael Poulsen hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute, Mago de Oz's Elias Ennegren ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Otto Linqvist. Otto Linqvist yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Jimmie Strand might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brian Lidberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jimmie Strand ran back to his position shaking his head. Richard Lange received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Otto Linqvist came out and tried to block the shot, but Richard Lange slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 41st minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

58 minutes had been played when some careless play by Västra Frölunda's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alto Gato was slow to take the kick. During this time Mago de Oz's players had a chance to rest. Alto Gato made a great header on Mago de Oz's corner, it was just that Västra Frölunda's Otto Linqvist managed to reach the ball for a save. Otto Linqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Ennegren in the 59th minute of play. Michael Poulsen kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joakim Holmgren got free with Brian Lidberg in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 73rd play minutes Joakim Holmgren shot 3-3, a short shot which went by Brian Lidberg and just under the crossbar into goal. When Richard Lange fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mago de Oz's protests and gave Richard Lange a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 played minutes Mago de Oz got a freekick which was hit by Richard Lange. In the 80th minute, Joakim Holmgren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Västra Frölunda fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-4. Brian Lidberg was a little too slow when Joakim Holmgren got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 3-5. In the 90th minute, Morgan Åkerberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Västra Frölunda left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Mago de Oz.
