With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lars Tomasson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lars Tomasson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claes Almqvist's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After some careless play in the sala ff defense, Claes Almqvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lars Tomasson. The sala ff fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lars Tomasson should have stopped the shot. 25 minutes into the game, Claes Almqvist cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Lars Tomasson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Magnus Hedman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Max Molin in the 32nd minute of the match. A hard shot 35 in the game by Claes Almqvist from a close distance when the talented Lars Tomasson managed to make a qualified save. sala ff's players were relieved. Magnus Hedman came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by sala ff's Honorato Patrício. But to his dismay, Honorato Patrício quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Lars Tomasson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kajetan Borucki in the 43rd minute. Claes Almqvist blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lars Tomasson having to make a save.

After a rather tough play, sala ff's Kjell Salqvist got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind sala ff's goalkeeper Lars Tomasson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Laureano Cordera took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lars Tomasson. Lars Tomasson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. In the 71st match minute, sala ff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kjell Salqvist to maneuver through the defense. Xälil Qämbärov might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lars Tomasson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xälil Qämbärov ran back to his position shaking his head. Xälil Qämbärov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lars Tomasson having to interfere. The supporters of sala ff booed when Blyth Spartans was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manfredo Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. sala ff's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
