The referee felt a red card was in order, 4 minutes into the game, when Victor Lustig put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of Sparta Maximus:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of UÅ Mästerbotten:s goal. The referee gave UÅ Mästerbotten a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ragnar Ekström, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sparta Maximus's Jim Hellqvist. 1-0. Allan Hjelm hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Ragnar Ekström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UÅ Mästerbotten's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ragnar Ekström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jim Hellqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Sandström in the 19th minute of play. David Blanck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Jim Hellqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anders Alin hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Jim Hellqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karl-Michael Kilström in the 27th minute. In the 29th match minute, Sparta Maximus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anders Alin to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Ragnar Ekström in the 30th minute really tested Jim Hellqvist's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. A hard shot by Ragnar Ekström from long distance, 31 minutes into the match, got Jim Hellqvist's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The supporters of Sparta Maximus booed when UÅ Mästerbotten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Håkan Billström didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute of the match Allan Hjelm shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thomas Wennerberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Anders Alin kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Per Sandström reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jim Hellqvist. The goal made the score 3-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Blanck to make the kick off. Jim Hellqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per Sandström, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When UÅ Mästerbotten's David Blanck in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Jim Hellqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per Sandström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Sune Gustafsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. UÅ Mästerbotten's supporters rose to their feet, but Sune Gustafsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jim Hellqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 77 minutes of play, UÅ Mästerbotten's David Blanck made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jim Hellqvist was left in no man's land by his defense there!
