The supporters of Frölundaboys booed when Sjuntorps if was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esbjörn Blomkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stig-Ove Nilsson in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Börje Lind, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Stig-Ove Nilsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Börje Lind. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stig-Ove Nilsson ran back to his position shaking his head. 16 minutes into the match, Sjuntorps if's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Brogren came free, but Börje Lind reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esbjörn Blomkvist made in the 19th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Frölundaboys's Jonny Björklund. In the 24th match minute, Frölundaboys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonny Björklund to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute Christer Strömberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Sarrate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Börje Lind was out of position in the 27 minute of play, and Stig-Ove Nilsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Stig-Ove Nilsson really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The throw-in from Edward Skog in the 38th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Sjuntorps if's Vilhelm Hellsing. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Björn Örn to make the kick off. Jonny Björklund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Börje Lind having to interfere. Sjuntorps if's Börje Lind played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jack Brogren in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Skog in the 58th minute of play forced Sjuntorps if's goalkeeper Börje Lind to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Håkan Hamberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bertil Zachrisson's late challenge caught a Sjuntorps if's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bertil Zachrisson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Frölundaboys's Bertil Zachrisson got a free kick in the 66th minute. When Sjuntorps if's Björn Örn in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Frölundaboys's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Frölundaboys booed when Sjuntorps if was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pelle Wennersten didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 73 minutes, Kurt Fågel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sjuntorps if and the Frölundaboys players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd minute Stig-Ove Nilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börje Lind saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Frölundaboys's goalkeeper Abelardo Sarrate had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Björn Carlsson. In the 85th minute Edward Skog suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Kurt Fågel got his second yellow card in the match during the 86th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Frölundaboys made a substitution. Ingemar Åkesson replaced Edward Skog. A collision led to Sjuntorps if getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Kurt Fågel hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, Björn Carlsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute Stig-Ove Nilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börje Lind saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frölundaboys's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
