An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Tham in the 36th minute of play forced Åre IK's goalkeeper Verner Tomasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd match minute, Åre IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus Carlsson to maneuver through the defense. Stig Askberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Verner Tomasson having to interfere. Åre IK's Verner Tomasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Tham in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Håkan Kiempe was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Sec FK's Erik Thedin got a free kick in the 51st minute. After having played for 53 minutes, Håkan Kiempe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åre IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Håkan Kiempe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Sec FK getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Stig Askberg hit a great ball. Håkan Kiempe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Åre IK's goalkeeper Verner Tomasson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Åre IK's Verner Tomasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan-Ove Blom in the 61st minute of play. Verner Tomasson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Ove Blom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute, Erik Thedin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sec FK's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
