Latikberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erland Ekström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vallsta IK's Verner Hedvall got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 21 played minutes Latikberg got a freekick which was hit by Arne Stenquist. 22 minutes into the match, Latikberg's goal looked a bit too open when Vidar Tunberg came free, but Mats Asplund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Vallsta IK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Verner Hedvall made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Latikberg defense, Vidar Tunberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mats Asplund. The Latikberg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mats Asplund should have stopped the shot. In the 57th minute, Jarl Berglund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute, Verner Hedvall got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonny Pihlwall received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mats Asplund came out and tried to block the shot, but Jonny Pihlwall slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 67th minute. 73 minutes into the match, Erland Ekström notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Vallsta IK's Adrian Lund. Adrian Lund was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 78thth minute of the game Erland Ekström who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vallsta IK's Adrian Lund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Leif Andreasson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vidar Tunberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Latikberg's Eric Vallgren got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erland Ekström might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adrian Lund. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Erland Ekström ran back to his position shaking his head. The Vallsta IK players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
