Reine Nykvist really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Rickard Bergström sped through Lajksjöberg's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Krister Fredriksson. Sporting Leeds Academy's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Reine Nykvist scored to the left of an out of position Kim Bolander, making the score, 2-1. Krister Fredriksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rickard Bergström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leonard Hellsing's late challenge caught a Sporting Leeds Academy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonard Hellsing helped the player get up and apologised. In the 24th minute, Leonard Hellsing hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Krister Fredriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rickard Bergström in the 26th minute of play. When Dan Lundgren came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Sporting Leeds Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Lundgren couldn't finish the play. 29 minutes into the match, Reine Nykvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kim Bolander. Sporting Leeds Academy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reine Nykvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 33 minutes into the match, Lajksjöberg's goal looked a bit too open when Rickard Bergström came free, but Krister Fredriksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sporting Leeds Academy's Kim Bolander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Ove Billvall in the 37th minute of play. Krister Fredriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rickard Bergström in the 39th minute of play. In the 44th minute, Sporting Leeds Academy's Valdemar Granqvist seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Valdemar Granqvist the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sporting Leeds Academy protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Valdemar Granqvist had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 45th match minute, Sporting Leeds Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdemar Granqvist to maneuver through the defense. Kim Bolander came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Lajksjöberg's Reine Nykvist. But to his dismay, Reine Nykvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dan Lundgren to strike the kick off in the second half. Dan Lundgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kim Bolander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Ove Billvall in the 63rd minute of the match. 64 minutes into the game, Tobias Broman threw the ball into play from the sideline. Sporting Leeds Academy's Simon Nilsson quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 66 minutes into the match, Sporting Leeds Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Ove Billvall came free, but Kim Bolander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sven-Ove Billvall took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kim Bolander. Kim Bolander dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Kim Bolander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonard Hellsing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dan Lundgren might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Krister Fredriksson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dan Lundgren ran back to his position shaking his head. 78 minutes into the match, Rickard Bergström dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Krister Fredriksson, 5-2. In the 81st minute Reine Nykvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kim Bolander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dan Lundgren who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Krister Fredriksson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kim Bolander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Ove Billvall, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 97th minute, Reine Nykvist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kim Bolander was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sporting Leeds Academy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Lajksjöberg.
