The referee ignored Ösmo's protests and gave Boris Vennerlund a yellow card for diving instead. After 5 played minutes Ösmo got a freekick which was hit by Boris Vennerlund. After a rather tough play, Ösmo's Rickard Asklöv got a free kick in the 7th minute. If Niclas Kellman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 14th minute, Niclas Kellman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vårby fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 18 minutes into the game, Jakob Häger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Vårby's Yngve Wik sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fredrik Galle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Yngve Wik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredrik Galle having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Bernt Lägdin fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sven-Ove Falkrantz, passed just outside the right post. 46 minutes into the game, Yngve Wik cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Fredrik Galle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
In the 55th minute, Yngve Wik fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jesper Smefeldt shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Yngve Wik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gabriel Sander kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Kennet Sjöström charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kennet Sjöström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yngve Wik in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fredrik Galle saved Ösmo from getting behind. Yngve Wik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Fredrik Galle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Yngve Wik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fredrik Galle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yngve Wik, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Vårby played a much better game than Ösmo and deserved their victory. The Ösmo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
