In the 12th match minute, Munktorp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uno Fransson to maneuver through the defense. Tage Säf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sixten Eliasson, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Bengt Åström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per Matsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Wictor Ahlbom ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tage Säf was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

With a little luck, Flen FC's Bengt Åström got control of the ball when Otto Vennerlund tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bengt Åström was a little too slow when Per Matsson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 1-2. 61 minutes into the game, Otto Vennerlund cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Bengt Åström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Flen FC booed when Munktorp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uno Fransson didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Wictor Ahlbom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bengt Åström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Matsson in the 76th minute of play. Tage Säf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wictor Ahlbom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
