Jan Åberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nemanja Knežević, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. If Zebastian Hammarbäck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dick Dahlbom made an important save on a dangerous shot by Albin Kuse in the 19th minute. Dick Dahlbom was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ingemar Berggren showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 25 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Zebastian Hammarbäck managed to get in a good position for a shot. RealMadrid's supporters rose to their feet, but Zebastian Hammarbäck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After 85 played minutes Hjortkvarn got a freekick which was hit by Du Zhan. When Josef Ekeroth came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the RealMadrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josef Ekeroth couldn't finish the play. Zebastian Hammarbäck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Jan Åberg made a huge save. August Fransson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Jan Åberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Hjortkvarn fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. RealMadrid were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
