Leo Dalgren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Kurt Vall made a huge save. After 11 minutes, Tommy Kolberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the IFK Göteborg and the Gräddhyllan BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gräddhyllan BK's Sven-Oskar Smed played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sune Vennerlund in the 14th minute of play. Tor Strömberg's late challenge caught a Gräddhyllan BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tor Strömberg helped the player get up and apologised. Tor Strömberg hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Kurt Vall made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Albin Asmundsson sent off a good shot on target. Jan-Erik Drewitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Vall having to interfere. Kurt Vall made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leo Dalgren in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute Lennart Biörkman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Oskar Smed saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. IFK Göteborg's Kurt Vall proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save IFK Göteborg from getting a goal against them. 36 minutes into the match, IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper Kurt Vall had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jesper Tomasson. When Leo Dalgren came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Gräddhyllan BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leo Dalgren couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, IFK Göteborg's Kurt Vall got control of the ball when Jesper Tomasson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leo Dalgren succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 41st playminute. Sebastian Broman took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sven-Oskar Smed. Sven-Oskar Smed dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After the first half IFK Göteborg were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sune Vennerlund to strike the kick off in the second half. If Sune Vennerlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 64 minutes into the game, when Hugo Gunnarsson put in a rough tackle. Hugo Gunnarsson hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Sven-Oskar Smed showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sune Vennerlund in the 67th minute of the match. Albin Asmundsson struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Kurt Vall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gräddhyllan BK. Jan-Erik Drewitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Vall having to interfere. If Sune Vennerlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, Jesper Tomasson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Gräddhyllan BK's Albin Asmundsson got a free kick in the 79th minute. Harry Berg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Vall having to interfere. When Harry Berg came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Gräddhyllan BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harry Berg couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sune Vennerlund in the 96th minute of play forced Gräddhyllan BK's goalkeeper Sven-Oskar Smed to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Gräddhyllan BK fully deserved thier win.
