Gunnar Fogel came out of the goal and Ralf Walmarsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claes Fransson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Gunnar Fogel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Karl Lindqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mikael Josefsson took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Östen Björkqvist. Östen Björkqvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The referee ignored IFK Göteborg's protests and gave Walter Östensson a yellow card for diving instead. Edwin Bokelund's late challenge caught a Borkas Rövare BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edwin Bokelund helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th match minute, IFK Göteborg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edwin Bokelund to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Ralf Walmarsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gunnar Fogel was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Borkas Rövare BK succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though IFK Göteborg had controlled the match.
