After some careless play in the Mariestad RK defense, Vilgot Billström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernst Söderberg. The Mariestad RK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernst Söderberg should have stopped the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vilgot Billström made a kick off. Vilgot Billström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Ernst Söderberg made a huge save. Ernst Söderberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vilgot Billström in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute, Karl-Magnus Lövgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vilgot Billström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Mariestad RK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vilgot Billström was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 62nd minute, Mariestad RK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Egídio Tavares fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Göran Sigfridsson during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a little luck, Mariestad RK's Ernst Söderberg got control of the ball when Vilgot Billström tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ernst Söderberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kenny Ekström in the 86th minute of the match.
