Anders Törnkvist's late challenge caught a Deje RK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anders Törnkvist helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Varnhem IK getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Anders Törnkvist hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the match, Andréas Hedlund had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Charlie Ekblom. Deje RK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andréas Hedlund was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Andréas Hedlund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Ekblom having to interfere. Charlie Ekblom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anders Bjurström in the 38th minute of the match. Anders Bjurström might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charlie Ekblom. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anders Bjurström ran back to his position shaking his head. Varnhem IK's Anders Törnkvist got his second yellow card of the match in the 43rd minute. The referee ordered Anders Törnkvist off the ground. Anders Törnkvist hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute Andréas Hedlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charlie Ekblom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Deje RK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Varnhem IK were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joachim Smed stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Per Koch might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charlie Ekblom. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Per Koch ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Deje RK's Joachim Smed got a free kick in the 55th minute. Varnhem IK's Andréas Hedlund got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aron Arhenius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joachim Smed in the 57th minute of play. Andréas Hedlund struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Charlie Ekblom didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varnhem IK. Aron Arhenius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulf Pettersson in the 71st minute of play. Aron Arhenius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulf Pettersson, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute.
