The tension between the Äng and the VfL Wolfsburg players grew even worse after the yellow card. 17 minutes into the match, VfL Wolfsburg's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Åström came free, but Sven-Erik Nyberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kjell Bivall couldn't finish the play. Malcolm Morat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sven-Erik Nyberg came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Äng's Michael Åström. But to his dismay, Michael Åström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Björn Gunnarsson struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Jan Björklund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VfL Wolfsburg.
