Sven-Erik Nyberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andreas Lundberg in the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Kjell Bivall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ljungdalen booed when VfL Wolfsburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Björn Gunnarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. VfL Wolfsburg's Sven-Erik Nyberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gunnar Forsberg in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Åke Arvidsson in the 21st minute of play forced VfL Wolfsburg's goalkeeper Sven-Erik Nyberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. VfL Wolfsburg's Sven-Erik Nyberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Lundberg in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Björn Gunnarsson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Claes Ivarsson. The goal made the score 1-0. When Björn Gunnarsson came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the VfL Wolfsburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Björn Gunnarsson couldn't finish the play. Sven-Erik Nyberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andreas Lundberg in the 31st minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Per-Åke Arvidsson notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of VfL Wolfsburg's Sven-Erik Nyberg. Sven-Erik Nyberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sven-Erik Nyberg came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Ljungdalen's Eddie Wiberg. But to his dismay, Eddie Wiberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunnar Forsberg in the 43rd minute of play forced VfL Wolfsburg's goalkeeper Sven-Erik Nyberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. VfL Wolfsburg's Sven-Erik Nyberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Lundberg in the 45th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Karl-Johan Öberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Per-Åke Arvidsson to make the kick off. Andreas Lundberg came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sven-Erik Nyberg could save by the left post. VfL Wolfsburg's Malcolm Morat got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th match minute, Ljungdalen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Åke Thidén to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harry Glad during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 64th minute, Harry Glad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 66 played minutes Ljungdalen got a freekick which was hit by Gunnar Forsberg. When Ljungdalen's Per-Åke Arvidsson in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye VfL Wolfsburg's goalie prevented a goal. Per-Åke Arvidsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sven-Erik Nyberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per-Åke Arvidsson in the 82nd minute of play. VfL Wolfsburg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Per-Åke Arvidsson scored to the left of an out of position Sven-Erik Nyberg, making the score, 2-4. Andreas Lundberg came free with the goalkeeper in the 93rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sven-Erik Nyberg could save by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in VfL Wolfsburg's zone, Villiam Löfgren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven-Erik Nyberg came out of the goal and Villiam Löfgren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The VfL Wolfsburg fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ljungdalen were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
