Peter Östman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Botvidsson in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mejslarna IF's Kenneth Glanselius got a free kick in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tor Lundin in the 15th minute of play forced Racka FF's goalkeeper Staffan Sandström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Tor Lundin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Staffan Sandström was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. The Racka FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Staffan Sandström should have stopped the shot. Mejslarna IF's Jan-Ove Hasselqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tor Lundin to make the kick off.
