Karl Mellbad was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Karl Mellbad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingvar Ek in the 33rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gunnar Stabbe got free with Karl Mellbad in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nils-Åke Sjödin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sven Ahlén kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Karl Mellbad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gunnar Stabbe, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 47th minute, Mjällby AIF's Gunnar Stabbe dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ingvar Ek to make the kick off. Tim Palm lost his temper 67 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 67 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Munktown City! Karl Mellbad stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ingvar Ek's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Karl Mellbad didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Harry Sundberg went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. Munktown City made a substitution. Osvald Wahlström replaced Marcus Joensson. Munktown City's Karl Mellbad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesper Smitt in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Sundberg in the 84th minute of play forced Munktown City's goalkeeper Karl Mellbad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute Ingvar Ek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Mellbad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
