Siesta Key FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Lilja was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sven-Ove Haeger kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After 5 minutes, Johan Hedlund mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Siesta Key FC and the Venga Boys players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Venga Boys booed when Siesta Key FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johan Hedlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute, Per Sandberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Johan Hedlund received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joseph Joensson came out and tried to block the shot, but Johan Hedlund slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. Joseph Joensson acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 20th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Erling Böcklund. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Michel Sandström during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Venga Boys getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Michel Sandström hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Venga Boys's Fritz Apelqvist got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute Johan Hedlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Joensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michel Sandström in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henning Josefsson saved Siesta Key FC from getting behind. 30 minutes into the match, Fritz Apelqvist notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Siesta Key FC's Henning Josefsson. Henning Josefsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Michel Sandström might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henning Josefsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michel Sandström ran back to his position shaking his head. Venga Boys's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Johan Hedlund scored to the left of an out of position Joseph Joensson, making the score, 2-1. If Johan Hedlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Ove Haeger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Johan Hedlund stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alf Brander charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alf Brander the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Venga Boys booed when Siesta Key FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alf Brander didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 54 played minutes Siesta Key FC got a freekick which was hit by Joel Dahlbom. Fritz Apelqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the match, Venga Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Wennerström came free, but Joseph Joensson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peter Wennerström charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Peter Wennerström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Siesta Key FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Peter Wennerström hit a great ball. Joseph Joensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johan Hedlund in the 66th minute of the match. Joseph Joensson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Lilja, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Venga Boys's Joseph Joensson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Lilja in the 74th minute of play. Joseph Joensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Wennerström in the 75th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Hedlund in the 78th minute of play forced Venga Boys's goalkeeper Joseph Joensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Venga Boys's Fritz Apelqvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Henning Josefsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 96 minutes into the match, Venga Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Johan Hedlund came free, but Joseph Joensson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venga Boys players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Siesta Key FC.
