Spectators: 7621 (Terracing: 5756, Seating: 1765, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Johan Kellberg started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the game, Wrexham A.F.C.'s Henrik Pihlgren nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ludvig Eliasson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Karl-Michael Burman fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borussia Dortmund's protests and gave Karl-Michael Burman a yellow card for diving instead. Sten Björk hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Wrexham A.F.C.'s Rune Hedvall got a free kick in the 14th minute. Ludvig Eliasson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrik Pihlgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Wrexham A.F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Wrexham A.F.C.'s Henrik Pihlgren looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 31 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Henrik Pihlgren came free, but Ludvig Eliasson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henrik Pihlgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Wrexham A.F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Wrexham A.F.C.'s Henrik Pihlgren looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Johan Kellberg kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Wrexham A.F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Henrik Pihlgren.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Henrik Pihlgren to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Henrik Pihlgren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ludvig Eliasson was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Esbjörn Forssell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl-Michael Burman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wrexham A.F.C.'s Henrik Pihlgren got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Esbjörn Forssell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Bokelund, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Henrik Pihlgren took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ludvig Eliasson. Ludvig Eliasson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. If Adrian Söderberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ludvig Eliasson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henrik Pihlgren's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Michael Burman in the 78th minute of play forced Wrexham A.F.C.'s goalkeeper Esbjörn Forssell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Wrexham A.F.C.'s Henrik Pihlgren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ludvig Eliasson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Rune Hedvall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcus Bokelund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Wrexham A.F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
