In the 9th minute Johnny Ennegren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yngve Göransson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Salem Hotspurs FC's Hernán Anaya sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yngve Göransson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 12 minutes into the match, DIÖ IK's goal looked a bit too open when Vidar Bäckman came free, but Yngve Göransson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yngve Göransson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnny Ennegren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Salem Hotspurs FC booed when DIÖ IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Staffan Ivarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lukas Lupidana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Staffan Ivarsson in the 27th minute of the match. The supporters of DIÖ IK booed when Salem Hotspurs FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens-Erik Mager didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Salem Hotspurs FC's Lukas Lupidana got control of the ball when Staffan Ivarsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. DIÖ IK's Yngve Göransson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens-Erik Mager in the 32nd minute of play. Jens-Erik Mager might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yngve Göransson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jens-Erik Mager ran back to his position shaking his head. Hernán Anaya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yngve Göransson having to interfere. After 40 played minutes Salem Hotspurs FC got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Erik Mager. A collision led to DIÖ IK getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Georg Sjöman hit a great ball. Salem Hotspurs FC's Jens-Erik Mager got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Staffan Ivarsson to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnny Ennegren got free with Yngve Göransson in the 50th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Georg Sjöman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lukas Lupidana having to interfere. In the 58th minute Johnny Ennegren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yngve Göransson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute Salem Hotspurs FC were awarded a corner. Jens-Erik Mager went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Jens-Erik Mager got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Yngve Göransson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Vidar Bäckman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salem Hotspurs FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vidar Bäckman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yngve Göransson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to DIÖ IK getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Georg Sjöman hit a great ball. After 70 played minutes Salem Hotspurs FC got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Erik Mager. DIÖ IK's Tage Vassenius was substituted for Rasmus Jelm. The supporters of DIÖ IK booed when Salem Hotspurs FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens-Erik Mager didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute, one of Salem Hotspurs FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Salem Hotspurs FC. Lukas Lupidana came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by DIÖ IK's Elof Pååk. But to his dismay, Elof Pååk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Salem Hotspurs FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jens-Erik Mager in the 79th minute. The corner ended in Jens-Erik Mager almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but DIÖ IK's Yngve Göransson did a great save. Elof Pååk's late challenge caught a Salem Hotspurs FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elof Pååk helped the player get up and apologised. After 85 played minutes Salem Hotspurs FC got a freekick which was hit by Johnny Ennegren. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Yngve Göransson. The audience was convinced that Olov Stolpe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lukas Lupidana was relentless in the 99th minute of the game. The Salem Hotspurs FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
