Nicklas Matsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Staffan Ivarsson in the 8th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Staffan Ivarsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nicklas Matsson. AIK Spiceboys's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Staffan Ivarsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Staffan Ivarsson in the 15th minute of play forced AIK Spiceboys's goalkeeper Nicklas Matsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Staffan Ivarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 21 minutes of play, AIK Spiceboys's Bo Grönberg made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olov Stolpe came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nicklas Matsson could save by the left post. Mats Wallin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Nicklas Matsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olov Stolpe's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Nicklas Matsson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Staffan Ivarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicklas Matsson having to interfere. Nicklas Matsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Staffan Ivarsson in the 44th minute of play. When Diego Armando Maradona fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AIK Spiceboys's protests and gave Diego Armando Maradona a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th minute, Diego Armando Maradona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute, Evert Bäcklin made a precise shot to the right of Nicklas Matsson. AIK Spiceboys's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Olov Stolpe to strike the kick off in the second half. Nicklas Matsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olov Stolpe in the 52nd minute of the match. Diego Armando Maradona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 76 minutes, Olov Stolpe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DIÖ IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olov Stolpe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute, Diego Armando Maradona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yngve Göransson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Khairul Sum in the 87th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in AIK Spiceboys's zone, Jerry Palmkvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicklas Matsson came out of the goal and Jerry Palmkvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicklas Matsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olov Stolpe in the 90th minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Evert Bäcklin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. Nicklas Matsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 96 minutes, Olov Stolpe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DIÖ IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olov Stolpe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
