Tor Tinglöv charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tor Tinglöv the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of DIÖ IK booed when Åskloster FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tor Tinglöv didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Åskloster FF's goal looked a bit too open when Staffan Ivarsson came free, but Stig Vidman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Åskloster FF's Oskar Lundin got a free kick in the 18th minute. Yngve Göransson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnny Olsson in the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Åskloster FF were awarded a corner. Kurt Sävström went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 24th minute, Joar Damm made a precise shot to the right of Yngve Göransson. DIÖ IK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olov Stolpe in the 27th minute of play forced Åskloster FF's goalkeeper Stig Vidman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the game, Georg Sjöman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. A nice corner shot did that Kurt Sävström got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Yngve Göransson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Johnny Olsson was the one to do the kick off. When Olov Stolpe fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DIÖ IK's protests and gave Olov Stolpe a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olov Stolpe in the 55th minute of play forced Åskloster FF's goalkeeper Stig Vidman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Olov Stolpe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stig Vidman was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Stig Vidman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. DIÖ IK's Olov Stolpe got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to DIÖ IK getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Olov Stolpe hit a great ball. Stig Vidman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georg Sjöman in the 85th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Åskloster FF's goal looked a bit too open when Olov Stolpe came free, but Stig Vidman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute Georg Sjöman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig Vidman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the game, DIÖ IK's Staffan Ivarsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stig Vidman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-1. There was no doubt that DIÖ IK were the better team. DIÖ IK's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
