In the 12th minute, DIÖ IK's Staffan Ivarsson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Erik Malmgren. Erik Malmgren yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Erik Malmgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Staffan Ivarsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as DIÖ IK's Olov Stolpe slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Erik Malmgren. That made the score 2-0 after 18 minutes of play. With a little luck, Blunts United's Erik Malmgren got control of the ball when Rasmus Jelm tried to sneak it across the goal line. Christopher Mactal hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 27 played minutes Blunts United got a freekick which was hit by Rolf Ruff. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Blunts United's goalkeeper Erik Malmgren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Staffan Ivarsson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 29th minute. DIÖ IK's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A throw-in in the 32nd minute of the game was made by Michael Wenerdahl with Magnus Abrahamsson as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 34 minutes of play, DIÖ IK's Olov Stolpe made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erik Malmgren was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice moves Olov Stolpe could shoot a difficult shot in the 37th minute, which Erik Malmgren however easily saved by the left post. Staffan Ivarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Blunts United's goal looked a bit too open when Olov Stolpe came free, but Erik Malmgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mariano Basualdo to strike the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes Blunts United got a freekick which was hit by Magnus Abrahamsson. Morgan Arenberg kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. With a little luck, DIÖ IK's Yngve Göransson got control of the ball when Fredrik Lenberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joar Ivarsson's late challenge caught a DIÖ IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joar Ivarsson helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Blunts United getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Joar Ivarsson hit a great ball. Blunts United's Erik Malmgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Staffan Ivarsson in the 60th minute of play. Fredrik Lenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yngve Göransson having to interfere. A collision led to DIÖ IK getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Mats Wallin hit a great ball. Erik Malmgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Ove Pilblad in the 70th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Basualdo got free with Yngve Göransson in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yngve Göransson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Basualdo in the 80th minute. Magnus Abrahamsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the DIÖ IK players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
