Yngve Göransson came out of the goal and Henrik Pihlgren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jan-Ove Pilblad hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Yngve Göransson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stig Lilja's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Yngve Göransson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stig Lilja in the 22nd minute of the match. Yngve Göransson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivar Aleberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olov Stolpe made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Henrik Pihlgren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yngve Göransson was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrik Pihlgren in the 92nd minute of play forced DIÖ IK's goalkeeper Yngve Göransson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Despite being the better team, DIÖ IK failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
