John Olofsson's late challenge caught a Giffarna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. John Olofsson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Giffarna booed when IF Älgarna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Olofsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sten Uggstedt scored 0-4 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martin Lekberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Martin Lekberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronny Hagström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 22 minutes of play, IF Älgarna's John Olofsson made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dan Arhenius showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-14. Giffarna's Martin Lekberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Giffarna from getting a goal against them. 0-15 became the score in the 93rd minute when Ronny Hagström elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 97 minutes into the match, Giffarna's goalkeeper Martin Lekberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by John Olofsson. IF Älgarna's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
