The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tom Berglund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Björn Jespersson in the 12th minute of the match. Christian Mårtensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tarvi Ruusmaa in the 13th minute of play. The corner led Marieholm's Jimmy Hedström to fire away a dangerous shot which Tom Berglund despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 16th minute, Jimmy Hedström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tom Berglund was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 21 minutes into the match, Marieholm's goal looked a bit too open when Tarvi Ruusmaa came free, but Christian Mårtensson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Näsbyns AIK's Tom Berglund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anders Bennet in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute Marieholm were awarded a corner. Sture Söderberg went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Marieholm's Sture Söderberg to fire away a dangerous shot which Tom Berglund despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Björn Jespersson in the 26th minute of play forced Näsbyns AIK's goalkeeper Tom Berglund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Sture Söderberg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tom Berglund quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Marieholm's Sture Söderberg was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tom Berglund in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a rather tough play, Marieholm's Jimmy Hedström got a free kick in the 39th minute. Andy Lindqvist took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Christian Mårtensson. Marieholm's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 47thth minute of the game Tarvi Ruusmaa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marieholm's Christian Mårtensson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Björn Jesperssons short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Tom Berglund to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 74 minutes into the game, Daniel Persson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marieholm's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Näsbyns AIK the free kick. The supporters of Näsbyns AIK booed when Marieholm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Persson didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tarvi Ruusmaa in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christian Mårtensson saved Marieholm from getting behind. In the 82nd minute of the match, Björn Jespersson got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tom Berglund was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Näsbyns AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Kåre Kråk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Mårtensson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
