An unexpectedly hard shot by Folke Örtendal in the 5th minute of play forced BK Gunilla's goalkeeper Sigvard Hasselqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Jelm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timmy Skog in the 7th minute of the match. After 8 minutes, Anton Lindqvist mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blue Devils FC and the BK Gunilla players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Blue Devils FC's Anton Lindqvist got a free kick in the 8th minute. After 10 played minutes Blue Devils FC got a freekick which was hit by Kåre Ljungberg. Timmy Skog sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sigvard Hasselqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Urban Tidéksson in the 18th minute. Blue Devils FC were furious when Nils-Åke Åkesson was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. When Timmy Skog came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the BK Gunilla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timmy Skog couldn't finish the play. In the 27th minute Folke Örtendal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sigvard Hasselqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sigvard Hasselqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Folke Örtendal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Folke Örtendal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Timmy Skog struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Martin Jelm didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BK Gunilla. 42 minutes into the game, Timmy Skog cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Martin Jelm was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 45 minutes into the game, BK Gunilla's Timmy Skog nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Martin Jelm made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After the first half BK Gunilla were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 53 minutes, Sture Flinck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BK Gunilla and the Blue Devils FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd match minute, BK Gunilla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sture Flinck to maneuver through the defense. After 60 played minutes Blue Devils FC got a freekick which was hit by Folke Örtendal. After a rather tough play, Blue Devils FC's Christer Holm got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Folke Örtendal might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sigvard Hasselqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Folke Örtendal ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 77th minute, Stellan Stor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard, long distance shot from Folke Örtendal flew over the goal. BK Gunilla's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
