The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alf Siöman was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 4 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Vänersborg SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CD Calle Gimena:s goal. Gösta Månsson shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Stewart Tongs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopold Asselberghs in the 9th minute of play. Gualterio Encina made a great header on Vänersborg SC's corner, it was just that CD Calle Gimena's Durlabha Burlaka managed to reach the ball for a save. Uno Strömqvist was extremely unlucky when he, in the 13th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 16th of the match, Leopold Asselberghs tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Stewart Tongs got in the way and made a wonderful save. Uno Strömqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Stewart Tongs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Albin Eliasson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bobbo Viking in the 21st minute of play forced CD Calle Gimena's goalkeeper Durlabha Burlaka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Vänersborg SC's Stewart Tongs got control of the ball when Uno Strömqvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Gösta Månsson fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CD Calle Gimena's protests and gave Gösta Månsson a yellow card for diving instead. Gösta Månsson hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 26th match minute, CD Calle Gimena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivar Deckbergh to maneuver through the defense. Klas McNamara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stewart Tongs having to interfere. Stewart Tongs made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopold Asselberghs in the 38th minute. Bobbo Viking sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tord Alberg in the 41st minute of play forced CD Calle Gimena's goalkeeper Durlabha Burlaka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stewart Tongs had great luck who in the 42ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Leopold Asselberghs from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Stewart Tongs came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by CD Calle Gimena's Leopold Asselberghs. But to his dismay, Leopold Asselberghs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bobbo Viking in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Durlabha Burlaka saved CD Calle Gimena from getting behind. Durlabha Burlaka stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bobbo Viking's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. The supporters of Vänersborg SC booed when CD Calle Gimena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivar Deckbergh didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopold Asselberghs in the 59th minute of play forced Vänersborg SC's goalkeeper Stewart Tongs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the match, CD Calle Gimena's goalkeeper Durlabha Burlaka had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bobbo Viking. Klas McNamara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After taking down the ball on Vänersborg SC's corner Ingmar Klementsson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Durlabha Burlaka quite easily take care of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Tord Alberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vänersborg SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tord Alberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durlabha Burlaka breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to CD Calle Gimena getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Uno Strömqvist hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uno Strömqvist in the 80th minute of play forced Vänersborg SC's goalkeeper Stewart Tongs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Durlabha Burlaka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bobbo Viking in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 83rd minute Klas McNamara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stewart Tongs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, CD Calle Gimena's goal looked a bit too open when Bobbo Viking came free, but Durlabha Burlaka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vänersborg SC were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after CD Calle Gimena's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gualterio Encina took the corner. Uno Strömqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Stewart Tongs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Durlabha Burlaka made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Bobbo Viking sent off a good shot on target. Durlabha Burlaka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tord Alberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96thth minute of the game Bobbo Viking who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CD Calle Gimena's Durlabha Burlaka was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vänersborg SC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
