The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Kristian Bern managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Köln's supporters rose to their feet, but Kristian Bern was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gösta Forsberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 11 minutes into the match, Vegetarianerna United's goal looked a bit too open when Gylippus Galitsis came free, but Gösta Forsberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernt Strömqvist hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Sven-Olof Ahlroth managed to get in a good position for a shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daidalos Rigatos in the 20th minute of play forced Vegetarianerna United's goalkeeper Gösta Forsberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Vegetarianerna United's goal looked a bit too open when Daidalos Rigatos came free, but Gösta Forsberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sven-Olof Ahlroth kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Gösta Forsberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gylippus Galitsis went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Greger Holmberg kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After having played for 30 minutes, Daidalos Rigatos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Köln's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daidalos Rigatos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Daidalos Rigatos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gösta Forsberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristian Bern, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thomas Alberg hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, FC Köln's Gylippus Galitsis got a free kick in the 41st minute. After 44 played minutes Vegetarianerna United got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Olof Ahlroth. Rasmus Johnsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Olof Ahlroth, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gylippus Galitsis was the one to do the kick off. If Gylippus Galitsis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Köln were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Vegetarianerna United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gylippus Galitsis took the corner. FC Köln's Herbert Petersson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gösta Forsberg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gylippus Galitsis in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gösta Forsberg saved Vegetarianerna United from getting behind. In the 67th minute, FC Köln's Daidalos Rigatos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. With a little luck, Vegetarianerna United's Gösta Forsberg got control of the ball when Daidalos Rigatos tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71st match minute, Vegetarianerna United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Greger Holmberg to maneuver through the defense. Gösta Forsberg came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Köln's Daidalos Rigatos. But to his dismay, Daidalos Rigatos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in Vegetarianerna United's zone, Gylippus Galitsis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gösta Forsberg came out of the goal and Gylippus Galitsis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Vegetarianerna United's Gösta Forsberg got control of the ball when Daidalos Rigatos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kristian Bern struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Gösta Forsberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Köln. In the 83rd minute, Sven-Olof Ahlroth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vegetarianerna United's Gösta Forsberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Vegetarianerna United from getting a goal against them. 87 minutes into the match, Vegetarianerna United's goalkeeper Gösta Forsberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kristian Bern. Gylippus Galitsis kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. If Bengt-Åke Vallmark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the match, Vegetarianerna United's goal looked a bit too open when Gylippus Galitsis came free, but Gösta Forsberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
