But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stig-Arne Siggesson couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute, Zlatan Malmberg reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonny Falk. The goal made the score 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingvar Gregersson in the 26th minute of play forced Trandareds SK's goalkeeper Jonny Falk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Newcastle United F.C.'s Fábio Brites was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 27th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Fábio Brites could shoot a difficult shot in the 30th minute, which Jonny Falk however easily saved by the left post. After 31 played minutes Trandareds SK got a freekick which was hit by Bengt Löfgren. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Zlatan Malmberg put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonny Falk. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Arne Siggesson in the 36th minute of play forced Newcastle United F.C.'s goalkeeper Rasmus Sigman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonny Falk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zlatan Malmberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the game, Zlatan Malmberg recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonny Falk. Zlatan Malmberg showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

Trandareds SK's Jonny Falk tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 77 minutes into the match, Trandareds SK's Inge Martinsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rasmus Sigman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ingvar Gregersson scored 8-0 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonny Falk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 84 minutes into the match, Trandareds SK's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Brites came free, but Jonny Falk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trandareds SK's Jonny Falk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Brites in the 87th minute of play. After some careless play in the Trandareds SK defense, Zlatan Malmberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonny Falk. The Trandareds SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonny Falk should have stopped the shot. Jack Brogren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Rasmus Sigman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
