Spectators: 7669 (Terracing: 5752, Seating: 1764, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ingemar Fransson started the match with the kick off. Sunderland FC were furious when Leif Ström was red carded, 5 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 5th match minute, Sunderland FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leif Ström to maneuver through the defense. Sunderland FC's Lennart Nyberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingemar Fransson in the 6th minute of play. Lennart Nyberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ingemar Fransson's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Rutger Olsmann got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Alfons Cane hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After 16 minutes, Ingemar Fransson made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Sunderland FC's Lennart Nyberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 19 minutes into the match, Sunderland FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ingemar Fransson came free, but Lennart Nyberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lennart Nyberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stephan Gardner in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Ingemar Fransson made a precise shot to the right of Lennart Nyberg. Sunderland FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Grigore Encuțu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Björn Gregersson in the 29th minute of play. Sunderland FC's Lennart Nyberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stephan Gardner in the 33rd minute of play. Carl Ruppen took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lennart Nyberg. In the 38th minute, Sverker Lange hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Fotbolls Grisarna's Bo Brodin got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Ulf Odén recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Ingemar Fransson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fotbolls Grisarna's supporters rose to their feet, but Ingemar Fransson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lennart Nyberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stephan Gardner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Björn Gregersson made the kick off in the second half. Lennart Nyberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henric Västlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lennart Nyberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carl Ruppen in the 53rd minute of the match. Sunderland FC's Lennart Nyberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingemar Fransson in the 56th minute of play. Ingemar Fransson made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 58thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Lennart Nyberg would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After 59 minutes Sunderland FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Carl Ruppen who took care of the corner kick. Fotbolls Grisarna's Carl Ruppen was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lennart Nyberg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a little luck, Sunderland FC's Lennart Nyberg got control of the ball when Viggo Påk tried to sneak it across the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Sunderland FC's goalkeeper Lennart Nyberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ingemar Fransson. 63 minutes into the game, Carl Ruppen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5.
