In the 7th minute Torbjörn Arhenius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixten Dahlgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hyltebruk FF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Torbjörn Arhenius in the 8th minute. With a little luck, Hyltebruk FF's Anders Apelquist got control of the ball when Östen Gunnarsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Anders Apelquist successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Anders Apelquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Kilstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. A collision led to Hyltebruk FF getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Torbjörn Arhenius hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Torbjörn Arhenius notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Frogner's Sixten Dahlgren. Sixten Dahlgren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hyltebruk FF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tony Hallgren was slow to take the kick. During this time Frogner's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Dag Nordlander managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Allan Kilstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anders Apelquist having to interfere. Demetrio Tesone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 30 played minutes Hyltebruk FF got a freekick which was hit by Edvin Fransson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dag Nordlander in the 31st minute of play forced Hyltebruk FF's goalkeeper Anders Apelquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Östen Gunnarsson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Anders Apelquist came out and tried to block the shot, but Östen Gunnarsson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 33rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allan Kilstedt got free with Anders Apelquist in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 37 minutes, Edvin Fransson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hyltebruk FF and the Frogner players grew even worse after the yellow card. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hyltebruk FF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Östen Gunnarsson heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Allan Kilstedt in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anders Apelquist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viktor Stigsson in the 45th minute of play forced Hyltebruk FF's goalkeeper Anders Apelquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Viktor Stigsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frogner's supporters rose to their feet, but Viktor Stigsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anders Apelquist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Allan Kilstedt was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Hyltebruk FF booed when Frogner was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan Kilstedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anders Apelquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Östen Gunnarsson in the 57th minute of play. Frogner's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
