In the 7th match minute, Ruda if was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Mickelsson to maneuver through the defense. Ove Hellqvist scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Orvar Kullgren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 14th minute Thijs Thys shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orvar Kullgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richard Edström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Michel Finman made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ove Hellqvist in the 31st minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Orvar Kullgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alf Möllgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 41 minutes, Robert Pihlberg made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ruda if's Michel Finman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Richard Edström had several of the Ruda if's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 45 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Michel Finman as he didn't even see the shot coming. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thijs Thys to strike the kick off in the second half. If Robert Pihlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Edström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Michel Finman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michel Finman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alf Möllgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Casper Biörk kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Orvar Kullgren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Staffan Arvidsson in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Pihlberg in the 63rd minute of play forced Ruda if's goalkeeper Michel Finman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ove Hellqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orvar Kullgren having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Pihlberg in the 70th minute of play forced Ruda if's goalkeeper Michel Finman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michel Finman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Pihlberg in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Elia Santoro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruda if's Michel Finman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Edström in the 74th minute of play. Michel Finman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Edström in the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Edström in the 83rd minute of play forced Ruda if's goalkeeper Michel Finman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michel Finman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alf Möllgren in the 85th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Thijs Thys managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ruda if's supporters rose to their feet, but Thijs Thys was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Orvar Kullgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Michel Finman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Pihlberg in the 90th minute of play. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ruda if's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alf Möllgren was slow to take the kick. During this time Manchester City's players had a chance to rest. Alf Möllgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michel Finman having to interfere. Orvar Kullgren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elia Santoro in the 95th minute. Ruda if's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
