Alf Ek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Dick Melander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Thames Ironworks FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Michael Ahlberg got free with Örjan Ståhlberg in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Örjan Ståhlberg was a little too slow when Michael Ahlberg got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 1-3. After 61 played minutes Thames Ironworks FC got a freekick which was hit by Christian Säv. 64 minutes into the match, Thames Ironworks FC's goal looked a bit too open when Viktor Björklund came free, but Dick Melander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74thth minute of the game Viktor Björklund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Thames Ironworks FC's Dick Melander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Rottneros FK getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Alf Ek hit a great ball. In the 77th minute, Cesare Di Bartolo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thames Ironworks FC's Dick Melander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alf Ek in the 83rd minute of play. Dick Melander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alf Ek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Rottneros FK manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Thames Ironworks FC to win.
