Flamengo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fredric Zander in the 21st minute. Flamengo's Stig-Arne Ekerot was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gunnar Håning in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 70th minute Fredric Zander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunnar Håning saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A murmur of surprise went through the audience when Fårdala FF's Klas Aronsson after having done a couple of nice dribblings in the 97th minute of the game fired away a shot to his disappointment passed just outside the right post. In the 97th minute Jonathan Alfors shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hjortberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Flamengo had won after a very even match.
