Max Åström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sepo Kroonpea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Jim Sundberg kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving István Fejes. That made the score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jim Sundberg got free with István Fejes in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kevin Alströmer's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 30thth minute, István Fejes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jim Sundbergs short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got István Fejes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
