Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alf Ahlkvist was the one to do the kick off. Gröngölingarnas IF's Jimmy Lilja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vic Wijnants in the 56th minute of play. Jimmy Lilja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vic Wijnants, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Luiz Fernando Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gröngölingarnas IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Fernando Leal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cafu Negri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Gröngölingarnas IF players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
