In the 16th minute Kurt Brogren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Lindberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kurt Brogren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jim Lindberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. With a little luck, SpringPojkarnas BK's Jim Lindberg got control of the ball when Kurt Brogren tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kurt Brogren in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jim Lindberg saved SpringPojkarnas BK from getting behind. Kurt Brogren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Jim Lindberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kurt Brogren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jim Lindberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kurt Brogren got free with Jim Lindberg in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kurt Brogren who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Jim Lindberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Joseph Myr hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jordi Leal in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Alrot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kurt Brogren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Jim Lindberg made a huge save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Christian Jakobsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kurt Brogren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Lindberg having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Kurt Brogren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mellbystrand IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 71st minute, Vendel Földesi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jim Lindberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Jim Lindberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Brogren in the 78th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Kurt Brogren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jim Lindberg was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. 83 minutes into the match, Mellbystrand IK's goalkeeper Daniel Alrot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alens Biedriņš. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind SpringPojkarnas BK's goalkeeper Jim Lindberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel Alrot made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alens Biedriņš in the 88th minute.
