Aron Dahlbom made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Ivar Wennersten sent off a good shot on target. In the 13th minute of the match, Simon Liljeström got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aron Dahlbom was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ivar Wennersten received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aron Dahlbom came out and tried to block the shot, but Ivar Wennersten slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 22nd minute. With his leg Aron Dahlbom managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when RedBull Antwerpen's Karl-Michael Lindström fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ivar Wennersten hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Mats Wilander took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sebastian Lindgren. RedBull Antwerpen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Aron Dahlbom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Michael Lindström, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Karl-Michael Lindström's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 32ndth minute, Aron Dahlbom skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Alf Säfström charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alf Säfström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alf Säfström hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The supporters of RedBull Antwerpen booed when MAFFIAN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alf Säfström didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 46 minutes, Ivar Wennersten made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. MAFFIAN's Aron Dahlbom tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivar Wennersten to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, MAFFIAN's Östen Vennersten got a free kick in the 56th minute. Aron Dahlbom didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gunner Kalashnikov went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. 62 minutes into the match, MAFFIAN's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Michael Lindström came free, but Aron Dahlbom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aron Dahlbom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Michael Lindström in the 63rd minute of play. After 63 minutes, Ivar Wennersten made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. MAFFIAN's Aron Dahlbom tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 68th minute Ivar Wennersten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aron Dahlbom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aron Dahlbom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivar Wennersten in the 71st minute of play. When Ivar Wennersten came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the RedBull Antwerpen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivar Wennersten couldn't finish the play. RedBull Antwerpen made a substitution. Christer Vester replaced Simon Liljeström. Gunner Kalashnikov might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aron Dahlbom. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gunner Kalashnikov ran back to his position shaking his head. 78 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when RedBull Antwerpen's Ivar Wennersten fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. If Pete Sampras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 91st minute, Karl-Michael Lindström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RedBull Antwerpen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0.
