Jimmy Lilja came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Mellbystrand IK's Bernt Göransson. But to his dismay, Bernt Göransson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gert Ström hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Jimmy Lilja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Brogren, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Gröngölingarnas IF's Jimmy Lilja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Brogren in the 16th minute of play. Jimmy Lilja took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Brogren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the game, Mellbystrand IK's Kurt Brogren nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jimmy Lilja made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Gröngölingarnas IF's Jimmy Lilja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Brogren in the 27th minute of play. If Niclas Vesterberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvin Arvidsson kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34thth minute of the game Kurt Brogren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gröngölingarnas IF's Jimmy Lilja was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Mellbystrand IK booed when Gröngölingarnas IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils-Erik Odin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kurt Brogren was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Brogren in the 79th minute of play forced Gröngölingarnas IF's goalkeeper Jimmy Lilja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Gröngölingarnas IF's Jimmy Lilja got control of the ball when Kurt Brogren tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mellbystrand IK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
