With an all-out effort, Linköpings AIK's Johnny Banks threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Arvid Carlsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The corner ended in Albin Nilsson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Malmö White Knights's Johnny Banks did a great save. Linköpings AIK's Albin Nilsson got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arvid Carlsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Johnny Banks made a huge save. Jimmy Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elvijs Presley in the 15th minute of play. The supporters of Linköpings AIK booed when Malmö White Knights was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elvijs Presley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Johnny Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albin Nilsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 played minutes Malmö White Knights got a freekick which was hit by Roby Baggio. In the 34th minute Arvid Carlsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Banks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jimmy Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elvijs Presley in the 40th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elvijs Presley in the 42nd minute of play forced Linköpings AIK's goalkeeper Jimmy Olsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Johan Johansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Banks having to interfere. Jimmy Olsson was a little too slow when Elvijs Presley got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elvijs Presley got free with Jimmy Olsson in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 69th minute Johan Johansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Banks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jimmy Olsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elvijs Presley in the 70th minute. With a little luck, Linköpings AIK's Jimmy Olsson got control of the ball when Elvijs Presley tried to sneak it across the goal line. Johnny Banks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johan Johansson in the 72nd minute of the match. Elvijs Presley who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Jimmy Olsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 80 minutes into the game, Malmö White Knights's Elvijs Presley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jimmy Olsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Jimmy Olsson came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Malmö White Knights's Roby Baggio. But to his dismay, Roby Baggio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. In the 92nd match minute, Linköpings AIK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabrício Castanheira to maneuver through the defense. Di Feng Zheng kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
