The throw-in from Basilio Nafarroa in the 37th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Linköpings AIK's Tavo Tomat. When Zoltán Újfalussy came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Linköpings AIK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zoltán Újfalussy couldn't finish the play. Börna Bulldogs's Vilgot Bålström was substituted for Ragnar Linquist. The supporters of Börna Bulldogs booed when Linköpings AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tavo Tomat didn't get a good kick on the ball.
