The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Krzysztof Kosiorek came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the FC Śmiechowo fans jumped to their feet. After a rather tough play, Lech Poznań's Ludomil Mruk got a free kick in the 6th minute. Krzysztof Kosiorek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. FC Śmiechowo's Slawomir Indyk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kryspin Kaczeniak in the 13th minute of play. Kryspin Banach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Slawomir Indyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Lech Poznań booed when FC Śmiechowo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radoslaw Pietrowicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kryspin Banach blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Slawomir Indyk having to make a save. Krzysztof Kosiorek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Dziatkowski having to interfere. When Radoslaw Pietrowicz fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Śmiechowo's protests and gave Radoslaw Pietrowicz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Śmiechowo getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Radoslaw Pietrowicz hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute, Barnaba Mazierski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Kryspin Kaczeniak made the kick off in the second half. Radoslaw Pietrowicz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Daniel Dziatkowski managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when FC Śmiechowo's Krzysztof Kosiorek fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 86th minute Barnaba Mazierski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Dziatkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Krzysztof Kosiorek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Dziatkowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barnaba Mazierski in the 97th minute of the match. FC Śmiechowo were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
